How do the digital buttons on the Orbi work?

The use of the buttons

This article describes how to use the buttons on the monitor. You can read more on the function of the buttons in our article ''insights in various waste streams''.

You can use the buttons in 2 ways:

  1. For single registrations.
  2. For multiple registrations

A registration means taking a photo before discarding the food into the bin.

Single registrations

A single registration means photographing one product and discarding it. You only press the button after the registration because you often arrive with your hands full and do not have a hand free to press the registration button. Registration is done as follows:

Step 1: Present the food at the LED light.

Step 2: Wait 2 seconds for the beeb, the automatic photo is taken.

Step 3: Throw the food in the bin.

Step 4: Press the button of the category in which you want to register the waste.

Multiple registrations

Are you discarding more than one item? Then make the button "sticky" by pressing and holding it. A "sticky" button means that the button remains pressed for the following registrations. Proceed as follows:

Step 1: Press and hold the button (under which you want to register the waste) for 2 seconds.
Step 2: Present the food at the LED light.

Step 3: Wait 2 seconds for the beeb, the automatic photo is taken.

Step 4: Throw the food in the bin.

Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you no longer have any registrations to make.

The button deactivates when you:

  1. Do not make a registration for 1,5 minutes or
  2. Press another button or
  3. Press the same button again.

TIP: Print out the following poster explaining the buttons. You can hang it up at the monitor or email it to the team. POSTER
