Setting up a Wi-Fi connection

Is this the first time you’re connecting the Orbi to WiFi, or has the connection been lost for some reason? This article explains how to connect your Orbi to WiFi.

  • If your Wi-Fi password changes daily or you're using an open WiFi network, we recommend whitelisting your device. This will ensure that you won't need to reconnect your Orbi to the Wi-Fi connection every day.

Whitelist the MAC address you received in the “Set up internet connection” email after your Orbi was delivered. Can’t find the MAC address? Contact support@orbisk.com to request it.

Step 1: Plug the Orbi into a power outlet to turn it on.

Step 2: Select the WiFi icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Enter the Orbi-specific PIN code.

This PIN code was sent via email when the device was delivered. If you cannot find the PIN code or did not receive the email, contact support@orbisk.com.

Step 4: Select your WiFi network and, if required, enter the WiFi password.

If the desired WiFi network is not visible, it is likely out of range. Move the Orbi closer or try setting up a hotspot on your phone to see if it becomes visible for connection on the Orbi.

  • Yes, the hotspot becomes available: Ask your IT department to install an access point for the WiFi, as it is indeed out of range.
  • No: There may be an issue with the antenna or hardware. Contact support via this form.

Step 5: If the WiFi icon is blue or green, the Orbi is successfully connected to WiFi.

NOTE: if 4G is desired, extra charges apply depending on the country, this can be discussed with your sales representative of Orbisk.
