Tips & tricks for explaining the Orbisk process to temporary employees

Do you have many temporary staff or agency workers in your organization whom you want to quickly and effectively engage in the Orbisk process? Or perhaps you want to reintroduce the process to current employees. In this article, we provide four tips for introducing Orbisk.

1. Share your vision

Share your vision so employees understand why the decision was made to use the monitor to reduce food waste. This isn’t about control, and no one is being blamed—reducing food waste is a team effort! Logging data provides insights into your food waste streams, enabling you to set targeted goals together to cut unnecessary waste.

2. Show the instructional video

The instructional video on the monitor demonstrates how to use Orbisk. Show the video by following these steps:

  • Click on the left button at the bottom of the screen, which appears as an “i”.

3. Pair with a buddy

Pair the temporary employee with a regular team member who is familiar with and enthusiastic about reducing food waste. This buddy system helps integrate the new employee into the team, promoting productivity and connection.

4. Sign the commitment document

Have everyone on the team, both permanent and temporary employees, sign the commitment document. This emphasizes the importance of working together, so employees see this not just as a task but as a shared responsibility where everyone is equally involved and valued. Reducing food waste is a team effort, not a solo mission.

We like to learn from practice and are, therefore, curious about your story. Do you have more tips or would you like to comment on the content of this article? Share your experience with us by sending an e-mail to support@orbisk.com or call us on +31 302270651.
